Yes, Bob Saget starred on two of the most family-friendly shows network TV has ever produced ("Full House" and "Americas Funniest Home Videos"), but he’s also an out of his mind, standup comedian for over thirty years. From his scene-stealing cameos in "Half Baked", "Dumb & Dumberer", the Showtime series "Huff," "The Aristocrats," or HBO’s "Entourage," it’s always effective as Saget embraces his dark side.
From directing MGM’s cult favorite feature film "Dirty Work," to directing and producing the highly acclaimed ABC television movie, "For Hope," to starring in the critically acclaimed, Paul Weitz off-Broadway play, "Privilege," Bob Saget shows no sign of ever stopping. His decidedly adult brand of comedy leaves his sold-out audiences welcoming Saget in a whole new light. Bob’s also the star of Jamie Kennedy’s and Stu Stone’s music video, "Rollin’ With Saget."
Out on DVD everywhere is "Farce of the Penguins," an R-rated comedy love story, that Bob voiced-over, wrote, directed, and produced, with producer David Permut and Thinkfilm. "Farce of the Penguins" is narrated by Samuel L. Jackson, and stars the voices of Christina Applegate, Lewis Black, Tracy Morgan, Mo’Nique, Bob, and fifty of comedy’s biggest names. Also, his hugely successful, one-hour HBO Special, "That Ain’t Right," is out on DVD and continues running on HBO.
October thru December, 2007, Bob completed his acclaimed Broadway debut as the ’Man in Chair,’ in The Drowsy Chaperone, the hit Tony Award winning musical comedy. He considers it to be one of the best experiences of his professional life. In addition, in 2008, the Comedy Central Roast of Bob aired on Comedy Central to the highest ratings on TV, second only to the Olympics.
