Catering Sales Manager
Nobody has a better understanding of the food & beverage industry than Diane Cole, our Catering Sales Manager. Maybe that’s because she’s been in the business since she was just 15 years old. Her diverse, multi-faceted training comes from great companies like the Holiday Inn Corporation, Best Western Hotels, and many great restaurants across the country.
After six weeks of training with the highest scores in the nation, Diane became the first female manager at Applebee’s/Thomas & King Restaurants in 1987. A few years later, she went to work for the Carlisle Banquet Hall, quickly rising to General Manager where she supervised more than 300 events and over $4 million in revenue.
In 1997, Diane became Director of Catering for Quincy Grille on the River here in Chicago. Along with Executive Chef Jason Tsoris, Diane implemented several innovative programs including outdoor events at Quincy Park, Charter Cruise catering, and many off-premise events like the John Buck Company Spring Fling for over 2000 attendees. In less than two years, she was promoted to General Manager because of her many successes.
By 2001, Diane took a position at Harry Caray’s Chicago as Corporate Director of Catering, overseeing events for Harry Caray’s Chicago, Rosemont, and the Quincy Grille. She was responsible for launching HC Catering, the restaurant group’s signature off-premise catering company. From 2003 to 2008, she formed a partnership with Jason Tsoris to create Jason’s Steakhouse at Gray’s Mill, a prestigious landmark in Montgomery, IL. During her tenure there, she was an active member of both the chamber of commerce and the Aurora Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
Since September 2008, Diane has been promoting The Venue as Chicago’s premier entertainment center. With her incredible understanding of the industry and extraordinary people skills, Diane brings a fresh new outlook to the events here at Horseshoe Casino.
