Director of Sales & Catering

Few possess the understanding, the leadership and the vision that our Director of Sales & Catering, Martha Link has. While earning her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Arizona and a Master’s in Education at the University of Illinois in Chicago, she began her career in the hospitality industry in 1993.

Her talents were recognized right away as she went from Server to Operations Manager at the country’s most successful comedy club, The Funny Firm. And in 1995, she became the Restaurant Manager for Harry Caray’s Steakhouse, the city’s number one producing restaurant. During her four years there, Martha managed the restaurant as well as the merchandising and products department, and was soon appointed Director of Catering.

In 1999, she was offered catering sales position with the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. In just three months, she was promoted to Catering Sales Manager. Then in 2000, Martha was recruited by Texas Station Casino & Hotel as the Assistant Director of Catering & Conference Services overseeing the expansion of more than 40,000 square-feet of conference space and wedding chapels. Within the year, Texas Station became one of the most popular catering destinations in the local Vegas market.

Then in 2001, the expanded Harry Caray’s Restaurant Group wanted Martha back to oversee their entire off-premise catering division in the highly competitive Chicago market. In just two years, Martha more than doubled sales. With that success, she began to bolster the on-premise catering efforts for the flagship location of Harry Caray’s, quickly adding over 30% to the sales volume. She also created the catering departments for two new Harry Caray’s locations in Wrigleyville and Lombard, IL.

After joining Horseshoe in May of 2008, Martha was instrumental in opening The Venue, Horseshoe Casino’s exclusive special events center. With her years of experience and passion for the industry, Martha continues to create an unforgettable experience for both guests and artists here at our extraordinary entertainment center.
